Five Minute Mug Cake
October 12, 2017
Have you ever wanted to make a cake but didn’t want to commit to buying the mix, heating the oven, waiting half an hour for it to bake and so many more complications? Here, we can show you how to make a cake that is for one person, and should only take a few minutes! Follow the easy steps to becoming a five-minute baker!
The ingredients you will need are flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, one egg, butter, milk or water, and your optional ingredients, vanilla, chocolate chips, or your choice of nuts.
Utensils you will need are two bowls, a microwaveable mug, and a whisk or fork.
First, you will have to mix all of your dry ingredients. The reason we mix dry and wet ingredients separate is so we can make sure that all the ingredients are distributed evenly and not in clumps after we have baked the cake. You can mix the dry ingredients using a fork or whisk.
So, in a mug or a separate bowl, mix the following dry ingredients:
3 tablespoons of flour
3 tablespoons of sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
One pinch of baking powder
You can also use the same fork or whisk to mix the wet ingredients next.
So, in a separate bowl, mix the following wet ingredients:
2 tablespoons of butter
2 tablespoons of milk or water
One splash of vanilla (optional)
After mixing your separate wet and dry ingredients, transfer the wet mixture into the dry mixture that is either in the mug or in another bowl. I would recommend mixing each mixture in bowls rather than in the mug so you can make sure everything is mixed well before you bake it.
Another optional thing that you can add to your cake is add a splash of vanilla, add some chocolate chips, or add your choice of nuts. Make sure you mix them into the product so everything is distributed evenly.
Now, it is time to bake! If you have not done so yet, put your mixture into the mug. Put your mug in your microwave for two and a half minutes. When the time is up, take it out and let it set for a few minutes before you eat it. Enjoy!
